About

Mission Statement

Affordably partnering with every patient to realize the best health of the individual, family and community.

What is DPC?

DPC is an alternative way to access primary care. Rather than paying by the visit, you will pay a low monthly fee to access your primary care physician when and where you need her. Though most things can be handled during office hours, if you have an after-hours question or urgent issue, I will be there for you. If you want to have a phone or video visit, we can do it!

By working outside of the insurance industry (your monthly fee is not covered by any insurance at this time), we can greatly reduce the cost of healthcare. At it’s very basic level, DPC is an agreement between you and your doctor.  I work for you, not your insurance company.

I was six years old when I realized I wanted to be a doctor.  Growing up in a small town in Wyoming, I imagined being a doctor meant trading house calls for eggs and homemade bread.  I went to college at the University of Wyoming and medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.  I did my family practice residency in Fort Collins, CO and moved to Montana in 2003.  I was employed as a family practice physician in this community for 14 years before I stepped away from clinical practice to get a Master’s degree in Healthcare Innovation.  The barriers to the delivery of quality care in our healthcare system inspired me to seek change.  I stumbled across Direct Primary Care as an alternative and fell in love with a model that allows me to be much more available to my patients and deliver quality care at an affordable and predictable price.

I have a teenage daughter, Ryan, who is attending Northern Arizona University.  In my spare time, you will find me outside running, riding my horses, playing with my dogs, fishing or reading a book.

I am a Certified Medical Assistant with seven year’s experience in multiple specialty practices including family practice. I fell in love with family practice as it compiles a portion of all of the specialty fields and it allows me to form longer-term relationships with our patients.

After working in the medical field for this long, the idea of affordable healthcare where patients receive great care and have genuine connection with their doctor and the clinic staff is something I always wanted to be a part of. We can accomplish this with Direct Primary Care and I cannot be any more excited to be a part of it.

I first chose Cara Harrop as my care provider because my whole family chose her as their care provider! I stayed with Cara Harrop because she became like family to me! Cara is compassionate, knowledgeable and absolutely dedicated to each and every one of her patients. Cara gets to the bottom of every health issue, she does not mask them, she treats them. I know I’m always in safe hands!
